Getting Ripped For The Summer




The ripped look is something impressive in both sexes, although often more desirable in the Male of the species. When ripped, even very slight women can look muscular and almost masculine to some. The reason for this is simple, to get ripped all non essential body fat is sculpted from the physique leaving only muscle covering the Skeletal structure. The typical female traits of Breast, rounded buttocks and softer facial features are removed from a ripped physique leaving harsh and sharp looking contours on the body and although this indicates fantastic physical shape, this doesn't always translate to physical attractiveness.


Of course there is an element of each to their own, what some people like others will not but most of all, surely we should be sculpting our physiques in a way that we are happy with and not to impress others?


The ripped look often become popular approaching the summer time in all parts of the globe which have seasonal weather resulting in hotter parts of the year in which taking our tops off or wearing bikini's is the done thing.


Whilst difficult to achieve the ripped look, the difficulty is the workload not the method of getting ripped. To reduce body fat requires a basic mathematical equation of reducing one's body fat through diet and exercise. If we are to consume less calories than we use up on a daily basis, the result will be a lower body fat content.


It is very difficult to cut down to dramatically low levels of body fat for a couple of reasons - first of all, we require Fat and our body's would much rather use muscle tissue for fuel as oppose to Fat tissue which we naturally want to keep for emergency energy stores and warmth. The second and most common reasons is the mental difficulty, training when hungry, cardio first thing in the morning, eating little regular meals as oppose to large evening meals - it all takes its toll on the mind and a Pizza and a glass of Wine often prove too much to resist on a Saturday night following a long hard week in work.


Whatever your aims are for your summer body, remember not to skip the fundamentals of training, warm up, mentally and physically prepare as if going to war every time you step into the gym, stay hydrated and eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
