Comparing The Hilton Head Diet And The HCG Concept

By James Hines

If you are thinking about a new plan for weight loss you are in good company. Millions of people are interested in the same thing. Two of the most popular plans today are HCG and the Hilton Head Diet plans.

If you start the HH or Hilton Head plan you will eat around one thousand calories every day for around six weeks. Your calories will be split into five separate meals, and two of them are considered snacks. This type of eating is believed to boost metabolism as you avoid "starvation" mode. Foods you eat must be high carb and low fat.

HCG eating plans includes eating about 500 calories a day for the same period as the HH plan. However, you eat foods that are low in carbohydrates and high in protein. Also, you are taking a cream, liquid, or injection of HCG hormone, which is believed to lower hunger response and help the body burn fat.

The HH and HCG plans can help you lose weight in the short term. However, most people are not interested in short term weight loss and it can be very frustrating. Neither plan is designed to be a permanent lifestyle, as they are both very low in calories. However, there may be a decided advantage to the HCG program.

Effective HCG plans can result in some very fast weight loss. An effective HCG program targets your fat for fuel, and is supposed to spare lean muscle tissue. When followed correctly, it is supposed to raise your metabolism for a significant amount of time after you conclude the program.

If you carefully examine these two plans you will see similarities. However, the HCG program may be more effective than the Hilton Head Diet for losing fat quicker and for better long term results. Make sure to see your doctor before you begin a new diet plan.
