One of the best most challenging journeys you may ever go on is seeing what your body is able to do. Maybe you are in shape, wholly out of shape, or merely looking to lose some weight. Nonetheless, developing a body that you really can be proud, one that is very healthy, and permits you to truly love each last tiny inch of it actually is a wonderful journey to undertake.

So what is the secret to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every single day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become unmotivated and daunted by the task at hand. Instead, really try and understand that you are contesting with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you should come back with a firm dedication to achieving something you really wanted. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each day. Without it, you may suffer the the inevitable and bad reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on developing the body of their dreams because they lack the ability to keep on coming back repeatedly timeand again.

Commitment also comes to mind, but not the commitment you're likely thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this concept that everything must happen at this time and if it does not actually occur now, it isn't worthwhile. Your body is going to drastically change throughout all the years, so why don't you try and make a lifelong promise to remaining healthy? Is that a marketable and sellable idea? Not so much. But is it something that might truly change the course of your life? Totally.

When you make a promise to keeping your body healthy throughout your entire life, you will eventually reach whatever goal you wish. It is all about seeing the overall picture than simply the few months in front of you until the summer. It is about developing something that you can be proud of for ever and ever. For me, that concept changed the course of my life as I was able to eventually hit my fitness goals after 12 years of struggling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I shifted my perspective of what I was making an attempt to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it works for you. Make a lifelong commitment to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all aspects of your life, and things will change radically.
