Don't Go Into Pac-Man Mode When A Hunger Panic Strikes

By

When you are concerned with losing weight and getting into shape, one of the most important aspects of this entire process that you MUST get control of is the food you eat. If you are currently overweight, then gaining control over the types and amounts of food that is put into your body is key for you to start shedding weight.

It's important to ask yourself how do you get when hunger starts to creep up on you?

Personally for me, whenever I used to get hunger pains and my stomach started to growl, I would literally crave anything and everything. I realized that when I had these hunger attacks I would eat an excessive amount of food at the next meal that came across my way. In other words eating far more food than was necessary at one single meal.

This is one of the main reasons why it's important to not let your body get to the point where it begins to starve. Hunger pains are a way for your body to let you know "hey buddy, I need some food". But it's also during these moments when we often overeat when we finally get food in our hands. We generally eat faster when we are hungry, and since it takes time for our body to register how much food we've taken in, we usually eat more than is necessary.

Remember the 80's video game Pac-Man? The small yellow 3/4 of a circle creature that continually moved around a maze eating little yellow pellets while being chased by multi-colored ghosts.

Ahhhh, brings back memories.

That's what happens when our body is starved for food, seeking to be nourished. Keep a mental image of Pac-Man in mind the next time you find yourself eating more food than you know you should at one sitting. Don't allow yourself to go into Pac-Man mode devouring everything in sight.

Help prevent that scenario from ever arising by keeping some healthy snacks close at hand to munch on between meals.

One of the best ways to prevent the body from going into hunger panic is to eat small snacks throughout the day. Small healthy snacks strategically consumed between meals followed with water is an excellent way to not only maintain self-control, but also provide your body with nourishment so that it never has to go into Pac-Man mode.

If you are the type of person that has had trouble with overeating in the past, one way to help prevent this from happening is by not allowing your body to get to the point where it is craving food. You will be in much better control when you are providing food to your body throughout the day and be less tempted to overeat when it comes to your next meal since you will eat slower and therefore a smaller, more appropriate portion size.

Don't just wait to eat during the three main meals of the day. Often the time lapse in between meals is too long and that's when the danger starts rising.

Keep your body nourished throughout the day and don't force it to go into starvation mode craving anything and everything. You will save your body the trauma of excessively eating Pac-Man style, and in turn adhere to your weight loss agenda in order to accomplish your overall goal.
